Paul Ehrlich, a well-known industry stakeholder and advocate of sustainable and intelligent buildings. In 2004 he formed the Building Intelligence Group LLC an independent consultancy, whose primary purpose is to support and promote the delivery of high performance buildings.  Services include systems assessment, master planning, training, and design for intelligent and sustainable building systems with a focus is in the areas of integrated systems, facility operations and enterprise management. Projects have been delivered for owners worldwide including major universities, corporations, and developers.  Building Intelligence Group also provides market research and strategic planning services for leading system suppliers and organizations.  Prior to forming Building Intelligence Group Paul held a series of corporate roles with Trane and Johnson Controls. 

Throughout his career, Paul has been actively involved with industry groups focused on the creation of new automation standards and technologies. Previous roles include chairing the ASHRAE Guideline 13 committee on how to specify DDC controls, chairing the BACnet sub-committee on interoperability, and acting as the inaugural chair for the oBIX committee to establish XML standards for building controls. He is currently a member of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) advisory council. 

At RealComm 2008, Paul was honored with the Digie Digital Impact Award, recognizing a commitment and passion to advance the concept of next generation buildings.  Previously he had been awarded the  Buildy Vision Award for his perseverance in promoting whole building integration and interoperability through advocacy, promotion, educational and training endeavors.

Paul has a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.  He is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Wisconsin and lives with his family in White Bear Lake Minnesota.

Aaron Hansen is the Chief Software Architect for CSI Cubed and is responsible for designing applications for the NiagaraAX platform.  Aaron was a senior engineer at Tridium responsible for a diverse range of technologies on the NiagaraAX platform including scheduling, cryptography, device drivers and Web services.  He was chairman of the OASIS subcommittee that produced Open Building Information eXchange (oBIX) specification as well as the reference implementation on NiagaraAX and R2.

John came to Las Vegas from a long tenure with some of the largest universities in the country including Notre Dame and Western Michigan University, working in environmental controls and energy management. He started his career in 1972 in the steam and chiller plants at CAT, Inc in East Peoria, IL as a mechanical engineer apprentice. He quickly moved from steam turbine repairman, chiller repairman to controls specialist. After he left Cat in 1988, he worked throughout the Midwest automating large hospitals HVAC and Steam/chiller plant control systems.

John Leslie has been the energy manager with  MGM/Mirage for the last 4 years. He has optimized energy consumption in the central plants of the MGM/Mirage’s 14 Las Vegas properties and 2 properties in other states.  He has recently returned from a 2 month stay at the MGM Grand Macau property where he has implemented rigid plant operations procedures including the installation of a “state of the art” Tridium platform BMS system in the central plant.

He has been given the enormous task of assisting in the reduction of the corporation’s $ 400,000 a day energy costs. His success in energy reductions in central plants across the properties has generated international attention.  MGM Grand Macau has seen a $ 3.1 million dollar reduction of energy costs in just 10 months with several Tridium platform technologies John has brought to the property.

Jack McGowan is CEO of Energy Control Inc. and is Chairman of the U.S. Department of Energy GridWise Architecture Council.  He is an author with 5 published books and over 125 articles.  Mc Gowan is an internationally known energy, buildings and technology expert, and was chosen by his peers as 2006 Visionary at the Builconn Intelligent Buildings event. The Association of Energy Engineers admitted him to the “International Energy Managers Hall of Fame” in 2003 and named him “International Energy Professional of the Year” in 1997.  He also sits on Technical Advisory Boards and is a Contributing Editor with several magazines including Engineered Systems, Green Intelligent Buildings Today and www.automatedbuildings.com .

With over 15 years experience in the automation industry, Andy McMahon has worked for some of the leading automation software suppliers in various management roles including sales, product marketing and promotional marketing. 

During his tenure at Tridium Corporation, he was responsible for managing North American sales and helping create the current distribution sales channel for the Vykon product line.

Prior to that, Andy was at Wonderware Corporation, a leading industrial automation software company.  He played a key role in the co-creation and release of the first internet product for the industrial automation market, and managed their number one product line, InTouch.

Currently, he is tasked with managing a sales and distribution territory for Controlco, and helping design leading edge automation technology projects for large end-users.  He also heads up the Sales and Marketing efforts for CSI3, a Controlco Company.

Don has been a member of the Department of Energy (DOE) Committee on Energy Efficiency, Commerce and Trade, and a U.S. Delegate to the hemispheric energy symposium hosted by Hazel O’Leary, former U.S. Secretary of Energy. Don was also a member of the U.S. delegation to the Western Hemispheric Trade & Commerce Forum hosted by the late Ron Brown, Secretary of Commerce. Mr. Millstein’s career with E-Mon culminated with the orchestration of the sale of E-Mon in 2002 to Hunt Power, a multi-billion dollar private company, where he remained with the company as President until the end of 2004.  He is a well-recognized speaker in the energy industry and has been published in over 30 trade magazines. He has worked with various building automation manufactures as a communications engineer, and has held various engineering degrees throughout his carrier. Over the past several years Dan has emerged as a leader in the field of building automation, energy management systems and data access. While working with mechanical engineering firms, Dan has assisted in designing and developing energy efficient specifications and standards for large commercial facility development.

He actively works with current ECS clients and prospects across the USA and Canada upgrading their capabilities in reference to enabling technologies and automated response. Additionally, Dan is responsible for the measurement and verification aspect of the ECS demand response portfolio.

He is also the architect of the analytical system at the core of ECS OpNet Center and leads the technology research and development departments. He holds a degree in Computer Science and a Network Engineering degree. He also works closely with ASHRAE and USGBC local chapters to discover new and improved standards for energy efficiency and protocols.

Since then Bar-Tech has been involved in a Join Ventures with Dalkia on Building Queensland's biggest Data Centre which was full integrated in to the Tridium product with over 25,000 connected points and growing. Bar-Tech has also worked on integrating all services in side the Cairns Airport to allow one monitoring system for all facets of the complex from Landing lights to Sliding doors to integration with flight plans.

He also led the development team for the Vykon Energy Suite (VES). John received an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Virginia

Steve is also a principal in Controlworks having joined them from Invensys Building Systems Australia where he was Managing Director.
